SHARPE'S POTTERY MUSEUM

    South Derbyshire Local History Forum


    An original project partner of the
    Sharpe's Heritage and Arts Trust Ltd

The Forum was formed in 1997 to provide a platform for any group or individual across South Derbyshire, interested in Local History to promote the history of the area.
In recent years, many South Derbyshire villages have formed their own History groups and the South Derbyshire Local History Forum is currently dormant.

Exhibitions

Prior to the opening of Sharpe's Pottery Museum, the Forum staged several exhibitions, two of which were held at the premises of T G Green, specifically on the art pottery produced in the South Derbyshire area by firms such as:

• Bretby Art Pottery
• Bretby Stoneware
• T G Green
• Palissy Pottery

Flying the flag for South Derbyshire, Pat Paling and Michael David Ash were at the Derby Museum Exhibition of Derbyshire Potteries.

The Forum put on a number of exhibitions covering the history of the area generally.

REPRINTED - As the first edition of this important, information packed publication was about to go out of print, Sharpe's Pottery Heritage & Arts Trust Ltd accepted an offer from the author to become a partner in a rescue bid to ensure that copies will continue to be available, for a considerable time, at Sharpe's Pottery Museum, which has exclusive local selling rights to the re-printed version. The book is also available from the author.

"Notices and Jottings from St. Wystans's Parish Magazine" - price £4.95 (plus p&p). A book containing interesting extracts from Parish Magazines 1889-1937, by Repton Village History Group.
