Did you know that you can sculpt muscle without increasing your workout time or changing your diet? You are not alone if you frequently struggle to achieve the amount of toning you desire despite a healthy diet and exercise. This can be attributed to ageing, genetics, activity level, or food preferences. At the Dermatology Center for Skin Health, PLLC, you can now tone muscle and lose fat with simple, noninvasive, FDA-approved treatments. Continue reading to find out more.
WHAT EXACTLY IS BODY CONTOURING?
Body contouring is a non-surgical procedure used to either remove fat or tone muscle.
CoolSculpting® for stubborn fat and Emsculpt® for muscle toning are both available at the Dermatology Center for Skin Health, PLLC. However, both procedures are only recommended for people who regularly exercise and eat a healthy diet, and they should not be viewed as an alternative to living a healthy lifestyle. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT WAYS TO CONTOUR THE BODY?
Emsculpt® is a noninvasive, FDA-approved procedure that uses electromagnetic pulses to force your muscles to contract 20,000 times in as little as 20-30 minutes. As a result, muscles become firmer and tighter, and fat cells are broken down. A series of four treatments are performed over two weeks for the best results. The best results are seen three months after treatment, with others continuing to see results six months later. Twenty thousand crunches are equivalent to one Emsculpt® therapy to the abdomen. Four abdominal medicines increased 19% muscle and a reduction of 23% fat, according to studies. Buttocks, calves, thighs, biceps, and triceps are also sculpted and toned using this procedure. The procedure creates muscle that would typically take months to build through regular exercise.
Emsculpt®, on the other hand, should not be used in place of exercise because it only activates the targeted muscle. Nevertheless, Emsculpt® is an excellent body contouring method and a device for strengthening the weak muscle you want to improve.
CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical, non-invasive fat reduction procedure that uses controlled cooling temperature to eliminate fat cells beneath the skin. Depending on the area being treated, the process takes only 30 to 60 minutes. Coolsculpting® reduces and eliminates fat from various body areas, including the flanks, abdomen, arms, thighs, and buttocks. CoolSculpting®, like Emsculpt®, should not be used as a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise and will not treat obesity. However, patients can expect a 20% to 25% reduction in fat in the treated area after a CoolSculpting® treatment.
TREATMENT IN COMBINATION
In our practice, we advocate for combination therapy to help with fat loss while also building muscle. For the best results, we tailor it to the shape of your body.
We use CoolSculpting® to remove stubborn bulk fat and combine it with Emsculpt® to remove excess fat and weak muscles, both of which must be corrected to improve body shape and definition.
As a result, patients with unsatisfactory results with fat-loss treatments such as CoolSculpting® can finally achieve their body goals with Emsculpt®.
ARE THERE ANY ADVERSE REACTIONS?
Emsculpt® patients currently have little to no downtime following a procedure. A patient may experience minor swelling, bruising, or pain due to the treatment, but this is unlikely. Similarly, minor side effects such as temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tingling, tenderness, or sensitivity may occur with CoolSculpting®. CoolSculpting® side effects can cause visible enlargement of the treated area two to five months after treatment in rare cases. These symptoms are uncommon, but they do necessitate additional medical attention.
